Claire Baxter is a Multi Award Winning Artist who captures 'Proper Yorkshire' with 'Proper Yorkshire Folk'!
Claire's quirky paintings set in real locations in and around Yorkshire, are brought to life by featuring characters we can all recognise, despite their lack of identity. Story telling in a painting, Claire allows the viewer to narrate their own tale, often envoking very personal responses. Loving colour and fun, humour is never far away form Claire's stunning work!
Claire is also the creator of The Wonderful World of George and Daphne! Her loveable couple who live in the joyful world of bubble trees, fun flowers, hearts, balloons and emit such love!

The Story behind George and Daphne.
In the beginning......
George and Daphne developed by chance 10 years ago following a holiday visit to Whitby Galleries. Following a conversation by my then 5 year old daughter which started with.... 'My Mummy paints...', led to a collaboration between myself and the Gallery.
I had painted a series featuring some quirky characters with umbrellas and we all believed they had potential. Many sketches later, saw the launch of George and Daphne. Two years later, I signed a contract with UK publishers Artko and I have been working with them ever since.
The Claire Baxter Galleries stock the Gallery Exclusive Collective which are all signed, limited edition prints, complete with certificates of authenticity.
To celebrate their ten year anniversary, I thought it was the perfect time to send them on a world tour. This colourful new series is OUT NOW!
